Getting the best scan
- Use a plain table, floor or a sheet of paper.
- Spread the pieces out in one layer, not in a heap.
- Use good light and hold the phone straight above the pieces.
- Come close enough that the pieces fill the photo.
A big heap in several layers, photographed from standing height, doesn’t work. Noppi tells you so (“Hard to tell the pieces apart”) and offers to take another photo. Scan a large collection in batches instead — about a hundred pieces at a time — and add each photo to your pile.
The camera doesn’t open
If camera access is off, Noppi offers to open iOS Settings so you can allow it. You can also tap “From Photos” and pick a photo you have already taken.
Fixing mistakes
Noppi isn’t always right. Pieces it isn’t sure about are marked for you to double-check. To fix any piece, tap it on the photo, then pick one of the most likely matches or search the catalogue. You can also change its colour, or remove it if it isn’t a brick. If the photo is already in your pile, your fixes update the pile too. In My bricks you can add or remove pieces by hand at any time.
Build ideas
How do they work?
Noppi has 42 models: animals, vehicles, buildings, robots, pixel art and more. Each one is worked out from the sizes and colours in your pile. “Ready” means every piece is in your pile. Tap “Start building” for 3D step-by-step instructions: turn the model with your finger and add a few pieces at a time.
Why does an idea say pieces are missing?
Your pile doesn’t have every piece that model needs yet, and the idea lists exactly which ones are missing. Scan more bricks or add pieces by hand in My bricks, and the ideas update.
Why are some ideas locked?
Six ideas are always free, with a rotating daily free idea that may overlap with those six. Noppi Pro unlocks all 42.
Finding a piece on the photo
In My bricks, tap a part, then the target button next to a colour: your last photo opens with that piece marked. In the 3D instructions, pieces that are on your last photo show “Find” — tap one to see where it lies. Only pieces from your last photo can be found.
Noppi Pro and purchases
What does Pro include?
All 42 build ideas and exporting your brick list as CSV. Scanning, the brick list and the free build ideas stay free. The app offers yearly, weekly and lifetime options. The price, any eligible trial and the renewal terms are shown by Apple before you confirm a purchase.
Restore
In Noppi: Settings › Restore purchases, signed in with the Apple Account that bought Pro.
Cancel a subscription or trial
Go to iOS Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Noppi to manage or cancel. If you do not want a free trial to renew, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Apple’s cancellation instructions.
Refund
reportaproblem.apple.com — refunds are decided by Apple.
Family Sharing
If your Noppi Pro purchase is eligible for Family Sharing, make sure purchase sharing is enabled for your family and use the Apple Account in that family group. Try Settings › Restore purchases in Noppi if access is missing.
Changing the language
Noppi is available in English, Russian, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Japanese, and follows your iPhone’s language. To choose a language just for Noppi, go to iOS Settings › Apps › Noppi › Language (on iOS 17: Settings › Noppi › Language). If Language isn’t listed, add a second language in Settings › General › Language & Region first.
Emptying your pile and starting over
In Noppi: Settings › Empty my pile. When your pile contains pieces, this removes every piece and the last scanned photo with its result. If the button is disabled because your pile is empty, deleting the app clears its local data. Your original images in Photos and any backups are separate. A new scan doesn’t change your pile until you tap “Add … pieces to my pile”.
Your privacy
Noppi has no account. The app analyses photos on your iPhone without uploading your scans or collection. Email you send to support and visits to this website are covered separately in our policy. Details are in the privacy policy.
